This year's Shootout at Lithia Springs was much different to me because I have now gotten to know the JSR family and was able to participate and interact whereas last year I was just struggling to match faces with names and watching from the sidelines.  I remember one of my thoughts being, "How can you keep track of what you are supposed to shoot with what and when?!"  So, needless to say I cannot make the claim about how this shoot has topped the previous one.  I can say that I had a great time minus the "First Big Match Jitters" and met so many more great CAS members from all over the area.

Thank you to everyone who made this shoot great!  There were so many people that lent a hand from making trophies, cleaning up the range, donating prizes, stuffing packets, arranging posses, and keeping the whole event running smoothly. Thank

This time last year I was starting my first JSR Newsletter to commemorate the Shootout at Lithia Springs 2002.  It is amazing the cycle of events over the past year.  I am in awe at how rapidly the sport took me over  and in less than a year was not just writing about it, but actually doing it.  Had you told me last year that I would have been a shooter this year at the annual, I would have told you that you were off your rocker.  I guess this is a prime example of how things can change in such a short period of  time with a little prodding from friends and family.

you to our Match Director, Col. Cornelius Gillam, for writing such fun, challenging, and interactive stages and coordinating the event.  Thanks to the posse leaders, Just Bill, Long Henry Thompson, JD Walker, Col. Cornelius Gillam, MT Dawson, and Rogue River Renegade for keeping the posses running smoothly while making sure everyone had a good time. Thank you to Rusty Bolt for tracking the scores and keeping us up to date on shooter standings.  Thank you to Jed I. Knight for getting everything on the website so quickly and taking so many pictures to memorialize the Shootout.  Thank you Bill for a great Trophy Design. And thank you to each and everyone of you that didn't get named, but provided a great service to make this event what it was.  Now it's time to start on next year's annual shoot!
