About the Jefferson State Regulators

The Jefferson State Regulators began in May 1997 as a part of the Ashland Gun Club, ten years after the Single Action Shooting Society was formed to bring an organized Cowboy Action Shooting group to Southern Oregon.

Using two single action pistols, a rifle, and a shotgun, the first annual match  took place September 1997, starting our Shootout at Lithia Springs tradition.  A typical match consists of several stages.  Each stage has a story and plot behind it that coincides with the procedure in which a participant shoots the stage.  The shooter engages metal targets to represent objects like buzzards, snakes, lanterns, and bad guys that are present in the story.
